Everything out of love for animals, people & the environment – Dr.Clauder's - Animal nutrition out of responsibility

Act responsibly and shape the future with sustainability. In accordance with the company value "We act responsibly", Dr. Clauder has set itself the goal of both animal welfare and the well-being of its employees. In addition to sustainable and environmentally friendly activities, we are committed to the well-being of people and animals through social projects and fundraising campaigns . In cooperation with Spix, we also support people with disabilities, support the Lions and Rotary Club and are a member of the Westphalian University's support association.

Production Made in Germany

Dr.Clauder's products are manufactured in Germany, mostly in the Lower Rhine region. The in-house team from the research and development department ensures that they are always compiled and processed according to the latest scientific findings. This means that food of the highest quality is offered: Made in Germany. Of course, always refined with a pinch of animal love.

Future-oriented mobility

In view of its overall corporate responsibility, Dr. Clauder also sees itself as committed to creating framework conditions that enable customers and employees, as individual members of society, to contribute to global sustainable development.

For this purpose, a special "bicycle garage" for e-bikes was built. Here, all employees who already have an electric bicycle can "refuel" directly on the Dr.Clauder premises in an environmentally friendly and unrestricted way - and the e-bike is kept dry and absolutely safe.

Electric and Hybrid Company Vehicles

The majority of Dr.Clauder's fleet consists of electric or hybrid vehicles. Our fleet pool includes a completely electric car and various hybrid vehicles for short and medium-distance company transport.

Dr.Clauder's field service and key account are completely equipped with hybrid vehicles.

Renewable energies: Solar system on the roof of the production facility

By generating energy from our solar panels on our production roof, we can already cover 50% of our energy needs with self-produced electricity.

meadow orchard with juice production

Our meadow orchard is a collection of fruit trees of different varieties. The trees are spaced far enough apart that each tree has enough space and light to grow. We do not use chemical-synthetic pesticides or artificial fertilizers in our cultivation. Old fruit varieties that are resistant to diseases and parasites have been cultivated on our meadow orchard. Although these have a lower yield than modern varieties, they produce better quality fruit.

Orchards are part of the agricultural meadows. Orchard cultivation is a traditional form of fruit cultivation that is very well known and traditional in the Lower Rhine region. Nowadays, the focus of maintaining and preserving orchards is often less on the yield and more on the nature conservation aspect. Our fruit can be consumed by our employees. Any excess yield is made available to the neighboring company Van Nahmen for the production of fruit juice. In the middle of our orchard, we have created break areas for our team. These are particularly popular for breakfast and lunch breaks. The orchard also contains trees planted by the team that embody the company's four core values:

1. Responsibility
2. Passion
3. Sustainability
4. Teamwork

Social commitment: An apple a day keeps the doctor away

In addition to a comprehensive range of occupational health promotion options for our employees, employees are provided with a varied fruit basket once a week. A little bit of health is good for everyone: fruit is a real power pack and we are specifically promoting the health and well-being of the Dr.Clauder team.

In addition to delicious fruit, our employees have a varied selection of discounted lunch packages available for a healthy midday break. We use home-made soups and stews from the neighboring farm shop.

Vocational training and further education of young people

The professional training and further education of young people has always been a focus at Dr.Clauder. Dr.Clauder offers comprehensive, practice-oriented training in a total of 2 commercial and 3 industrial apprenticeships.

Our trainers in the specialist departments, who provide intensive support to the trainees, ensure the high standard of training at Dr.Clauder. As different as the individual professions may be, they have one thing in common: the high quality of the training.

Finally, the individual support of the trainees in small training groups and the good family-like working atmosphere contribute to Dr.Clauder's popular training concept. Many of the trainees stay with the company after their training and use the many opportunities to qualify for further attractive tasks at Dr.Clauder through in-service training measures.

Writing a thesis in a real company

We have already been able to provide practical support to many students in the implementation of their bachelor's and master's theses. The students are supervised by employees who themselves have experience in writing academic papers. The students are given guidance from the very beginning.

This begins with the optimal selection of topics and the subsequent support, critical assessment and adherence to the common thread. During this time, the student supports us with projects with a fresh approach and a lot of creativity. Practical support is very important to us in order to give the students optimal insight and achieve the best possible result.

It is not without reason that a permanent employment contract is ultimately the result of a strong collaboration. We are always looking for new high performers and are very happy about these projects.

Or would you like to complete your practical semester with us? Of course! We look forward to working with you.

perspective for people with disabilities

We work successfully with the regional rehabilitation facility “WfbM Spix eV”. Spix provides people with disabilities with a professional challenge and perspective and integrates them into normal working life. This provides a structured daily routine and strengthens self-confidence.

People who cannot find work in the general labor market because of a physical, mental or psychological disability have a legal right to a job in a workshop for disabled people. The Spix eV workshop in Wesel offers people with a mental handicap exactly this opportunity. These jobs are workshop places in a workshop for disabled people or integration into cooperating companies such as Dr. Clauder.

For example, the working group of the garden and landscape department of the Spix workshop takes care of the outdoor facilities at Dr. Clauder for 2 working days every 14 days, which look perfect thanks to this great support. In addition, Dr. Clauder has often been supported by the Spix team in packing promotional items. Most recently, 3 workshop employees worked for several weeks at our location in Hamminkeln in autumn 2022.

In addition, we provided an external vocational training workplace or company-integrated workplace for an employee of Spix eV from December 2020 to the end of March 2022.

Jochen Peus supported our warehouse team so successfully that we have decided to take him on as an employee with social insurance contributions from April 1, 2022. Jochen is a very important team member and one we cannot imagine being without. Company-integrated workplaces (BiAps for short) are outsourced workshop workplaces on the general labor market. They represent very good preparation for long-term employment, detached from the supervising workshop, and are actively supported by the job coaching service of Spix eV.

We are very grateful for the diverse and great help.”

equality between women and men

In our company, women and men are treated equally. There are both men and women who work at management level.

Sustainable economic activity as an opportunity for all (decent work and economic growth)

We sell our goods in many different countries, so we also have to respect local laws. Everyone has the right to participate in economic prosperity and to be able to make their own contribution to it. This requires, among other things, good administration, a strong private sector and a sustainable financial system.

Less inequality

Empower all people, regardless of age, gender, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion or economic or other status, to self-determination and promote their social, economic and political inclusion.

Produce and consume sustainably

Our consumption and production technology must change. One building block for this are rules for dealing with limited resources, occupational health and environmental protection.
