Corporate Health Promotion at Dr.Clauder

As a responsible family business, we not only care about the well-being and health of our four-legged friends - the same naturally also applies to our employees. Without them, we would not have reached where we are today as a company.

In order to promote the health and well-being of our employees, we integrated health promotion at Dr.Clauder into the corporate structures in 2017 under the motto “Healthy + Active Together”.

Origin and Claim of Health Promotion

Dr.Clauder's four core values ​​are anchored in VISION 2030: responsibility, team, passion and sustainability. In order to do justice to these core values, our managing directors decided in 2017 to start with company health promotion and to develop it further from promotion to company health management.

An important component of company health promotion is anchored in the vision "For a happier living between pets and humans around the world!": "happier life" requires "happy people". Sustainable company health management and its effects go beyond the prevention of illness. Reducing workload and the resulting positive effects are among the main focuses. Health and satisfaction in everyday working life have been proven to contribute to fewer sick days and higher performance. It is therefore obvious why company health management is important for every company.

We started with the goal of integrating a sustainable and holistic health concept and anchoring health in all of Dr.Clauder's structures and processes. Over the years, health promotion has continued to develop: Only through optimization and permanent improvement can we really achieve our ambitious goals. That's why regular checks are as standard as the measures themselves.

Our employees now benefit from a range of different measures that relate to the important health areas. We rely on a mixture of workshops, courses and firmly implemented offers:

Fruit

Once a week, every employee receives free fruit to strengthen their natural immune system. Deliveries are made exclusively by regional farm shops. Employees also have free access to drinks such as water and coffee.

Lunch

Subsidized seasonal lunches from a regional farm shop are always available in our power plant to provide refreshment.

JobRad - bicycle leasing

With JobRad, our employees can lease their dream bike at reduced rates and then pay it off later at a low price. That's not all: their family members can also use the offer. Rose City Bocholt is available as a local regional cooperation partner.

Cooperation with a physiotherapist in the region, exercise programs and annual health days are just as much a part of our company health promotion as the ergonomic redesign of our offices.

The importance of health is emphasized every year as part of a health day. One day a year, everything at Dr.Clauder revolves around the topic of health - with campaigns, measures and offers relating to the various aspects of physical and mental health. In recent years, for example, employees have been able to take part in a yoga class, an active break or the stress scale and thus expand their knowledge in these areas. No two health days are the same: every year we set new priorities and develop new offers. In 2022, the health day was able to take place again for the first time after the Corona break with an extensive program. From the BIA measurement and ergonomics training to a back check and a healthy lunch, the offer was enthusiastically received by the employees.

stress management workshop

In 2019, a workshop focusing on dealing with stress in the workplace and self-management was held for the first time. As a complementary support offer to operational measures, the focus here was on personal understanding of the effects of stress and individual situation analysis. Sources of stress were identified, resources developed and promoted. With individual tips on how to optimally organize work and deal with stress factors, employees were given help to promote and support mental health.

Ergonomics for frequent drivers

Our field staff are exposed to different physical challenges than their colleagues in the office - this should of course not be ignored: In order to support the health of field staff, the "Ergonomics for Frequent Drivers" workshop was held in 2019. This was interactive and practical, with helpful tips on how to optimally set up and implement ergonomics in the car and provided many suggestions for a healthy and active break in the car and relaxation in the evening. What does ergonomics actually mean? What happens to the body when you drive frequently and for long periods of time? These and many other questions were answered in the workshop, and help with a healthy diet was also provided.

Active Break

In order to bring some momentum into everyday working life and to provide suggestions for how to organize breaks, all employees were able to take part in the "Active Break" course in 2019. Boost your circulation and get rid of tension: Many colleagues met weekly to loosen and stretch their backs and muscles and prevent tension - always under the supervision of a competent physiotherapist. Whether stretching exercises for the parts of the body stressed by everyday office life, a short workout or fascia training: everything was there to really boost your circulation and to acquire a basic understanding of an active break in the long term.
